Alfredo Macam Yao’s humble beginnings and entrepreneurial vision led to the establishment of the country’s leading beverage brand, Zest-O Corporation. This beverage mogul credits his innovative spirit and innate creativity for the award bestowed in him as the Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise for Innovation at the first ASEAN Business Awards in 2007.

Putting innovation and research and development in high premium, Mr. Yao continues to inspire the Filipino people through his story of perseverance and determination. PCCI, in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, launched the Alfredo M. Yao Intellectual Property Awards (AMY National IP Awards) in 2009, in furtherance of its advocacy to promote appreciation and application of locally-developed and socially-relevant intellectual properties and to support its development and commercialization.

The AMY IP Awards has been conferred to Filipino-owned intellectual properties from the inventor’s community, the academe, and entrepreneurs.
